okayukta officials on Thursday trapped Police Inspector and Woman Police Sub Inspector red handed while accepting a bribe from the accused of a cheating case to help him to bail out in the case .
Based on the complaint by the advocate,Venkatachapalathi M,a team led by DYSP Girish and other officials laid a trap and waited outside the station as the victim went inside the team was waiting outside and while receiving the cash they trapped and arrested Vajramuni K,Inspector KR Puram and his assistant WPSI,Ramya N,red handed .
Senior officer told media persons the accused police officers had assured not to arrest the accused involved in cheating forgery and criminal intimidation case registered this year and demanded Rs.3 lakh promised not to arrest and also facilitate anticipatory bail .
The accused Ramya had taken Rs.50,000 as advance amount the duo caught red handed while receiving Rs. 50,000 more.
The duo had been booked under PC act and taken into custody for further investigations.
As we have reported many times about the corruption activities is on rampant from past 2 years in this Division and false cases being filed to extort money by threatening them and as the lawyer Venkatachalapathi said that this is going from long time in this station as they file case and then demand ransom to help the accused in the case by assuring them not to arrest as many police officers and staff have been booked for kidnapping and demanding ransom.
After the lawyer alleges that this is going on regular basis in this Division there should be a high level inquiry to be ordered and all the case should be scrutinized by senior officers or CBI inquiry to be done on the cases registered in 2 years across Whitefield Division to bring confidence among residents as recently corruption activities involved cases are below.
Corruption among the police officials in Whitefield Division is on the rise as they kidnap and extort money and this is the third case reported since last year.
In March,PSI,Rangesh and two head constables tried to extort Rs.40 lakh from a man who was abducted and threatened with a criminal case related to wildlife act.
In April 2022 the Karnataka Police Complaints Authority to express concern over the complaints against Assistant Commissioner of Police,Kishore Bharani of Marathahalli Sub Division and police constable P Ramesh for their alleged involvement in real estate matters.
ACP Kishore Bharani and police constable P Ramesh had been accused of compelling a complainant to withdraw the complaint filed against them.
Recently a petition was filed against the same ACP Kishore Bharani alleging that he has extorted huge amount of money and regarding the same a petition and complaint against the ACP Kishore Bharani was filed to karnataka DG-IGP and commissioner of police to take action against the ACP.
