A highly decomposed naked body of a woman was found in the house of a multi storeyed building in Headmasters colony in Chandapura on Monday.
The incident came to light when neighbour complained bad smell emanating from the locked house and informed the police .
The Surya Nagar police rushed to the spot broke open the door to find the women lying dead and the other occupants of the house were missing.
Senior officer said the man identified himself as Sapan Kumar aged around 40 years from Odisha had rented the place and living with the woman.
The house was unattended and cigarette butts,liquor bottles and unused food packets were found scattered around.
We suspect that the women was sexually assaulted before being murdered. Sapan Kumar is presently on the run and his mobile phone was not reachable .
The police have also found that the person through whom Sapan got the flat is also missing .
Efforts are on to track down the accused while the police are waiting for the post-mortem report to ascertain the exact reason behind the murder.
