As many as four accused involved in the POCSO cases are among the total 1021 cases convicted by different courts in February this year.
One among the POCSO accused was convicted 20 years of imprisonment while another was convicted for life while the other two accused were sentenced five years and three years of imprisonment,respectively,City police commissioner,B.Dayananda,said.
In a case related to the Karnataka Protection of Interest of Depositors in Financial Establishments Act,reported in Pulakeshinagar in 2015,the court has convicted the accused and sentenced him with 10 years of imprisonment with a fine of Rs.34 lakh .
The courts have completed the trail in total 1694 cases and convicted 1021 cases out of which 3 persons have been sentenced imprisonment of 14 years and above.
The remaining 1166 accused related to 1007 cases were either slapped with fine or let off with a warning , while the rest of them including one person gets imprisonment up to 10 years,five persons gets up to 3 years and five persons gets imprisonment less than one year.
