Kodigehalli police cracked jewellery shop owner and worker shootout case and arrested gang of four in Gwalior

he Northeast division police of Kodigehalli police cracked the case of foiled robbery attempt of jewellery shop and arrested a gang of four inter state robbers involved in over 20 criminal cases .

The police with the help of vital clues track down the accused to Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh and pinned them down.

In the melee and resisting arrest one of the accused opened fire on his associate identified as Suraj sustained bullet injuries and had been admitted in a private hospital .

The accused on March 14,armed with county made weapons barged into Lakshmi Bankers and Jewelers situated in Lottegolahalli, Devinagara at around 11.15 am and threatened the owner and the employee at gun point to handover the valuables.

They opened four rounds of fire at Hapuram,owner and Antharama when they resisted the robbery bid.

Two rounds have hit Appuram in the torso while one round has hit Antaram in the leg.The assailants have sped away as people hearing gun shots rushed towards the shop for help.

In the melee, the accused dropped a countrymade pistol at the door step and sped away in two motorcycles .

The injured persons are undergoing treatment at Ramaiah Hospital.

Senior police officials including the Director General and Inspector General of Police,Alok Mohan,City police commissioner,B.Dayananda along with senior police officials rushed to the spot and supervised the investigations.

A special team of police was formed who gathered and verified the CCTV footages and other evidence to track down the accused to Gwalior.

During the arrest and recovery,the accused in a bid to escpae injured in a gun shot .

The other accused identified as Kanha Pandit,Ashu Pandit banti alias Mose were arrested and being brought to the city for further investigation.

The gang used to target small jewelry shops to avoid security cover and other crowd to avoid undue attention and rob them.

They said to be involved in over 20 robberies in and around the Maharashtra and other parts of the country .

The accused using similar modus operandi had committed a robbery in Maharashtra last week before moving to Bengaluru .

They did a reccee for few days after zeroing in on the shop and attempted.But the owner and his staff gave a tough fit which made them to abandon the plan and escape .

The injured are recovering in the hospital ,the police said .
