Bengaluru Police Seize Rs.20 Lakh Unaccounted Cash In Two Separate Incidents

lose to the heel of stepped up vigil due to election code of conduct enforcement,the city police in two separate incidents seized unaccounted cash worth ₹ 20 lakh during random checks on Friday night .

The Ashok Nagar police intercepted a car at the check point which was transporting unaccounted cash worth ₹ 13 lakh .

The cash according to the police belonged to Narayana, a poultry farm owner from HosurNarayana claimed that the money was collected from his retail dealers but there was no record to substantiate his claim,A officer, said .

In another incident,the police found car moving suspiciously near Nelamangala toll and checked to find ₹ 7 lakh unaccounted cash .

The owner of the cash identified as Raghupathi from Tamilnadu was heading to Tumakuru with the cash for business purpose but he did not have any records to show the source of the cash.

The police have seized the cash and initiated probe to ascertain the source of money .

The city police following the announcement of elections dates stepped up vigil to check illegal transports of cash and other materials to be used for allurement during election.

As many as 100 check points have been put up and patrolling in the sensitive areas have been stepped up to check on illegal transport of contraband and cash.

The police also roped in officials from BBMP, commercial tax and revenue officials to be part of the checking and vigilance squads.
