he Byadarahalli police on Sunday arrested a couple used to dupe jewelry shops using fake payment app.
The accused Nandan,40,and his live-in-partner Kalpitha had visited the jewelery shop a 15 days ago to Parmesh Jewelers at Gollarahatti bought 36 grams of gold worth 1.6 lakh and made the payment through fake app payment and escaped .
The owner of the shop realized that he had been cheated and filed a complaint.
Based on the complaint,the Byadarahalli police led by Inspector Veeranna Magi collected the CCTV footage from in and around and analyzed over 100 footage before zeroing in on the accused .
In one of the footage we found the scooter number using which we track down Kalpitha and later Nandan.
The duo were habitual offender involved in similar offences in and around the city, senior officer, said .
The duo said to have committed four to five thefts in the last one year and arrested for the first time.
