BMRCL suspended security guard under suspension for Sexually harassing woman passenger at Jalahalli Metro station

The BMRCL on Wednesday placed a security guard under suspension for sexually harassing a woman passenger at Jalahalli metro station platform in broad day light .

The victim was standing at the platform waiting for the train when the accused touched her inappropriately and ogled at her when she raised objections .

Shocked by this when the victim objected to him,he continue to stare at her following which the victim started to record his behavior on her mobile phone following which the accused left the place .

The victim in her complaint to the BMRCL stated that she felt terrible since it happened in the broad day light and not feeling safe.

Despite raising concerns with the metro authorities and providing video evidence, the woman alleges no action was taken.

This incident highlights a disturbing trend,following recent reports of sexual harassment by metro staff in Bengaluru.

She requested the officials to take action against the accused and also tagged the city police seeking action.

The woman’s complaint highlights that the metro staff misbehaved by touching his private parts while on the opposite side of the platform.

“Around 2:30 pm today,I experienced someone constantly staring at me and making certain gestures.

Such an incident would have been worse in broad daylight,”she said.“I questioned him,but he kept staring at me and making gestures.

He left after I started making the video,” the woman added in her complaint.

Taking cognizance the BMRCL officials identified the accused and suspended him pending inquiry.It may be recalled that some women staff .

It may be recalled that recently a case of sexual harassment on female staff members by a metro officer has been registered by Subramanya Nagar police station .

According to the complainant,two women working as security guards at Rajajinagar and Yeshwantpur metro stations were accused of sexual harassment by the assistant divisional officer of the metro station.

Gajendra P, Assistant Divisional Officer of Sandalwood Soap Factory Metro Station,allegedly sexually harassed the woman.

Despite complaining to senior officials of BMRCL about him touching inappropriately and passing lewd comments .
