An armed gang of two robbed cash Rs.3 lakh from a woman living in the farm house in Urkehalli in the outskirts of Kunigal after firing at the inmates who tried to resist them on Wednesday .
The accused wearing helmets entered the farm house and asked the inmate Pushpalatha for the water to drink.
The accused followed her when she went inside to fetch the water and took her handbag containing the cash.
Pushpalath returned with water and found the accused carrying her handbag and raised alarm for help.The accused threatened her with gun point to be silent .
Meanwhile Ganganna father of Pushpalatha hearing the commotion came to her rescue and tried to resist them.
But the accused fired three rounds in the air and one of the shot hit Ganganna.He sustained injured at hie leg and collapsed following which the accused sped away in the motorcycle.
The neighbours hearing the gun shot rushed to their help and shifted him to hospital before alerting the police.
Senior police officials including central range,IGP, Ravikanthe gowda and Superintendent of Police,Ashok KV, visited the spot and supervised the investigations.
The police are gathering the CCTV footage to identify the gang .
