The Lokayukta officials on Tuesday arrested Head constable and Jeep driver of Assistant Commissioner of Police,red handed while accepting a bribe from a LPG Gas distributor for an official favour .
The duo identified as Nagaraj, jeep driver and Gangahanumaiah,Head Constable with Peenya police station were caught red handed at the ACP office premises while accepting Rs.50,000.
The duo had demanded ₹ 2 lakh from Chethan Puttaiah, from Sunkadakatte,a LPG cylinder distributor,promising to get permission from the authorities concern for the distribution of cylinders in their sub division.
Unable to pay the bribe,Chethan approached the Lokayukta and filed a complaint.
Based on the complaint,a team led by Vijaya Krishna, Police Inspector caught the duo red handed and booked them under Prevention of Corruption Act.
