The BJP government at the centre has betrayed the Kannadigas by not giving their tax share;Should people vote for the BJP who did not respond to the drought?: CM’s question

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah questioned as to what moral right does Union Minister Amit Shah who did not come to the aid of the people of the state during drought, have to ask people of the state for votes.

He asked whether people should vote for such a BJP candidate.

He was speaking to the media in Mysore today.

*People will teach BJP a lesson.

The state is not been given its share in the tax money of the state.But the former chief minister does not care about this and has become the spokesperson of BJP.

This attitude of the centre is a betrayal of the Kannadigas.He said that the people of the state will teach a lesson to this attitude of BJP.

Reacting to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s election campaign in the state, the CM said that Amit Shah,who is the chairman of the High level Committee, has not agreed to the drought relief.

He questioned whether permission has been given so far for Mekedatu project and Mahadayi project.

Responding to the notice issued by the Election Commission for the statement made against Amit Shah, the CM said that a reply has been given to the notice issued by the Election Commission.

He said a statement is given on the report given by CBI and said that he has already given a clarification on the matter.

*Election based on achievements of Congress government.

Responding to the question asked by the media about the campaign speech of the Chief Minister in Varuna Constituency yesterday,he said our government must exist if the pro-people projects and development works in the state are to continue.

I have convinced people that if BJP comes to power, they will stop pro-people schemes.

I have convinced people that the projects will be stopped if BJP comes to power.The BJP is just lying. They are asking for votes based on the achievements of the Congress government and we are hopeful that the people will make the Congress party win’ he said.

*Measures to prevent drinking water from becoming a problem.

Responding to the increased water problem due to drought in the state,the CM said that the media should not report on speculations.

He said that action has been taken to ensure that drinking water does not become a problem in any part of the state.

*Illegal mining: No report received against minister.

Responding to MLA Janardhana Reddy’s criticism of Ministers Santosh Lad and Nagendra regarding the allegations of illegal mining,the CM said if there is evidence of illegal mining,let them go to court.

Due to reports that Janardhana Reddy was involved in illegal mining, I campaigned for action against him and took out a padayatra. He clarified that no such reports have come on these ministers’

*People favour -Congress in Hassan.

Reacting to the former CM H.D. Kumaraswamy facing elections in Mandya, the CM said that it is God’s will. , earlier when Kumaraswamy was the Chief Minister, his son was defeated in the Mandya Lok Sabha elections. He won in Hassan as I campaigned for Prajwal Revanna in Hassan during the coalition government.

The CM said that this time the Congress candidate should win in Hassan and the people of Hassan are leaning towards the Congress party.

Responding to Varuna people’s desire that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah must contest elections again, the CM said that the term of my government this time is four years.

At the age of 82, my political career will reach 50 years. He said that he has no anxiety about the elections.
