Women Protection Wing of CCB made a significant breakthrough by apprehending 5 suspects and busting fake CSR fund racket and recovered Rs.30 Crore fake currency and Rs.23.4 Lakhs

he Women Protection Wing of CCB officials on Monday busted a gang of five who were running CSR fund racket to offer crores of rupees to businessmen and NGOs from corporate funds and escape with the commission.

The police recovered 30 crore worth fake currency of Rs.500 and 2000 denomination and cash ₹23.4 lakh from them.

Explaining the modus Operandi,City police commissioner,B.Dayananda,said that the accused would approach the businessmen and NGOs and trusts, offering them to get CSR funds from corporate houses and demand 40 percent commission.

The accused even show the fake currency neatly packed in boxes ready to be delivered through the video calls to lure the victims.

Once the commission amount was transferred the accused would hoodwink the victims and escape.

Using the modus operandi,the accused had cheated many people until they approached a city based businessman and offered him One Crore CSR fund for his business venture and demanded a commission of 25 lakh .

The accused as part of their plan,showed the currency filled boxes to be delivered to the victim as soon as the commission is paid.

However suspecting something fishy,the businessman alerted the police and the CCB officials swung into action and arrested the accused identified as Kishore, Sudhir,Chandrashekhar,Vinay and Teertha Rishi.

During investigation it was revealed that Kishore,the prime accused in this racket had incurred huge loss in hotel business and also lost money in similar fraud , started using the same MO to recover the money.

He roped in his associates who used to approach gullible people offering CSR funds posing as representatives of reputed companies.

The accused were earlier involved in similar cheating complaints such as rice puling racket,hawala and gambling rackets having cases in neighbouring states.

Mr.Dayananda had asked the people whoever got cheated by this gang to approach the police and has appreciated the whole team for their meticulous investigation and tireless efforts in busting fake CSR fund racket a suitable reward will be given to whole team he added.
