The Byappanahalli police on Monday arrested a 23-year-old food delivery executive and recovered five stolen bikes worth three lakh from him.
The accused Deepak,resident of Jaraganahalli in JP Nagar sixth phase.
Senior officer told reporters,Based on a bike theft case reported,the police identified the accused through CCTV footage and arrested him.
The accused have as many as 14 cases pending against him at various police stations across the city , the police,said .
During investigation it was revealed that the accused used to work as food delivery executive by day and identify the parked bikes .
He would come back in the night after duty hours to steal them and sell it to his people for throwaway prices without documents.
The accused would convince the people with a cheap deals and takes small amount as advance with a promise to return with the documents with full and final settlement,a senior officer,said .
