Gadag Railway Police cracked murder case of youth and arrested his two brothers for killing over property dispute

The Gadag Railway police on Thursday cracked the murder case of a 24-year-old youth and arrested his two brothers for killing him over property dispute and dumping his body on railway track to make it look like suicide at banapura in Gadag district on April 8.

The deceased Upendra Mali had a dispute over ancestral property with his elders brothers.Thirupathi Mali,25 and Ramanna Mali, 30.

The deceased has taken ₹ 2 lakh from his brother to bequathe his share of property and did not return the land or money.

More over the accused was harassing his sister -in-law sexually which enraged the brothers to kill him.

As per the plan the duo invited him for alcohol party took him to railway tracks and after couple of drinks, they duo bludgeoned him to death with a stone .

They later dumped the body on the railway track and returned home.

The next day Gadag police recovered the mutilated body of Upendra and registered a case of un natural death.

During the course of investigation it was revealed that the death was due to bludgeoning and stepped up the probe.

In the course of inquiry the police found Upendra had a difference with his brothers over property and brought the duo for questioning.

A detailed questioning led them to confess to the murder,Superintendent of police,Railways Dr.SK Soumyalatha,said.
