One among four member gang arrested by Whitefield police who posing as policemen assaulted and threatened to arrest a scrap dealer and robbed Rs.2 lakhs

The Whitefield police have stepped up investigations to track down a gang of four men who posing as policemen assaulted and robbed ₹ two lakh from a scrap dealer threatening to arrest him under illegal activities .

The complainant,Aktir Ali Mondal,was scrap dealer in Nallurahalli,Pattandhuru Agrahara for the last eight years said in his complaint that on Last Wednesday, a gang of four men in a car approached him in the shop and introduced them as policemen accused him of running illegal business .

They assaulted him and his employees when they tried to object and robbed Rs.20,000 cash and forced him to transfer ₹ 80,000.

They threatened to arrest if he failed to pay and took away his debit card and withdraw ₹50,000 .

They returned the next day and returned the card demanded more money and forced him to pay ₹ 50,000 cash threatened to take away his motorcycle .

Scared Mondal narrated the ordeal with his family and friends who suggested him to approach the police .

Based on the complaint,the police have registered a case charging the unknown accused under extortion, assault and criminal intimidation for further investigation.

Based on the complaint,the police in a swift action track down one of the accused identified as S Niwas and efforts are on to track down others in the case, a senior police officer, said .
