A 32-year-old autorickshaw driver was killed and his friend injured when a speeding water tanker knocked them down on Magadi main road in the early hours of Monday.
The deceased Harish R,and his friend Suchith,28,had gone out on their motorcycle and returning home late in the night. The duo was not wearing helmet.
While passing on Tunga Nagar main road, a speeding water tanker coming from opposite direction , knocked their bike down.
While suchith who was riding fell on the other side, Harish slipped under the front wheels of the truck and sustained severe injuries.The truck driver sped away soon after the accident .
passers-by rushed the injured to Victoria hospital where Harish was declared as brought dead .
The Kamakshipalya traffic police registered a case of hit and run and track down the truck while the driver was absconding .
The police are awaiting post mortem report for further investigations.
