A 1.5 acres of forest land in Sriganda Kaval near summanahalli bridge belonging to bbmpwas gutted due to accidental fire broke out on Saturday night.
The kamakshipalya police along with fire and emergency service personnel rushed to the spot and struggled over nine hours before contain the fire on Sunday morning.
The area where the fire broke up used by the BBMP to dump trees and branches removed in and around.
There were other waste material like advertisement hoardings and wood material removed and dumped the three areas of acres belonging to bbmp.
The police officials suspect that some miscreants or mischief mongers set fire to the waste material which were dry due to extreme heat.
The police have taken up a case and investigating to ascertain the cause of fire.
