Woman held for stealing cash,valuables from sister’s house recovered stolen property worth Rs.65 Lakhs

The Kengeri police have arrested a 22-year-old private firm employee for stealing cash and gold valuables worth Rs.65 lakh from her sister’s house to repay the personal loan.

The accused Uma,working in a auto consultancy firm in Laggere,is a spendthrift borrowed personal loan worth ₹ 6 lakh .

In order to repay the loan she planned to burgle her own sister’s house .

Senior officer told reporters that the Uma used to visit her sister’s house in RR Layout who is married to realtor and businessman.The family was well off and kept huge amount of cash earned through business .

Uma knew about huge amount of cash kept in the house and decided to steal.As per the plan as month ago,she had accessed the house keys and got a duplicate set of it .

She waited for the opportunity and when the family had gone to attend a festival at their home town,Uma gained entry using the duplicate leys and made away with the cash and gold valuables .

She had even wiped the finger prints and threw chilli powder around the house to hoodwink dog squad.

The theft came to light when one of the family member visited the house to find the entire premises was ransacked and valuables were missing.

Based on the complaint, the police registered a case of theft and questioned the family members before zeroing in on Uma .

She was with her sister to console her and also keep a watch on the development.

A Detailed questioning by police led Uma to confess to the crime .

The accused had spend ₹ 5 lakh within four days of the theft and rest of the stolen money and gold she had handed it over to her employer for a safe custody a senior officer, said .
