A seven-year-old girl was killed on the spot in a freak accident in Kaggalipura on Sunday.
The deceased Nagalaksmi,daughter of Venkatesh was playing outside her house.
A woman in her neighbourhood in order to learn the car, moved the vehicle and noticed the girl and pressed accelerator peddle instead of applying brakes out of panic.As a result the girl was crushed under the vehicle and died on the spot.
The Kaggalipura police detained the woman and seized the vehicle for further investigation.
In another incident,a couple were killed on the spot when a speeding KSRTC bus knocked them down in the outskirts of Ramanagara on Sunday.
The deceased have been identified as Ravi Kumar,45 and Lakshmmamma,40.
The couple are resident of Honnapura village in Kudur police station limits and daily wage employees.
The duo was returning home from Kanakapura after visiting their daughter.
The Ramanagar rural police have registered a case against death due to negligence and rash and negligent against the driver and arrested him for further investigation.
According to Alok Kumar Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Traffic and Road Safety,the trio part of the 51 people killed in separate road accident occurred across the state in the last 24 hours .
According to him rash and negligent driving,lack of skills among the drivers and fatique are the main three reasons for the accidents which had recording the alarming figure of deaths .
Many of these caused due to rash & reckless driving Road safety needs responsible behaviour from all the stakeholders,he said .
The drivers lack of skills and traffic discipline among them are the reason for increase in accident rates,which needs immediate attention.
