A couple and their three minor children sustained severe burn injuries in an accidental fire occurred at their house in MS Nagar in Sampigehalli on Wednesday night.
The injured Madan Chahar,33,his wife Prema,28,and their children Hirad,12,Prashanth,6 and Anitha,8 were admitted to Victoria hospital for treatment.
The couple hailed from Nepal and Madan is working as security guard and also food delivery job in the spare time .
The incident occurred at around 11.30 pm when Madan returned from home from work and lit the stove to heat the food for dinner.
Due to the gas leakage the fire broke out and spread to the entire house.
Neighbours hearing the scream rushed to their help and alerted the fire control room before trying to douse the fire .
The fire and emergency service personnel joined the rescue work put out the fire later and shifted the injured to burns ward at victoria hospital where they are being treated at Intensive care unit.
The Sampigehalli police rushed to the spot and conducted probe to ascertain the exact cause of fire .
