Four member gang including man from Kerala arrested for robbing students and threatening to foist drugs case against them posing as CBI officials

T he Soladevanahalli police on thursday arrested a gang of four including a 42-year-old man from Kerala for robbing students posing as CBI officials .

The accused Pramod,a hotel management course graduate working in a hotel in Thiruvananthapuram used to visit his sister’s house on Hesaraghatta road where a group of four students from kerala stayed in a rented house.

Noticing their life style,Pramod,decided to make a quick money and roped in his friends identified as Ananthakrishna,a college drop out,Deepak,a private firm employee and Adarsha who ferried them in a car and also shared his bank account number to transfer the extorted Rs.90,000.

As per the plan,the accused on Monday posing as CBI officials flashing a gun and fake ID cards barged into the house of the students and threatened them for posessing drugs.

The accused assaulted the students and forced them to hold the packet of Marijuana which they had brought with them before video recording.

The accused threatened the victim to foist a drug case against them and even upload the video of social media before demanding money.

The accused made the victims to transfer the money to bank account online.The accused even started calling the victims to transfer more money following which the victims approached the police and filed a complaint .

Based on the complaint,a team of police led by Inspector GN Nagesh swung into action and arrested the accused within 12 hours of the incident.

The police have seized a handcuff and fake ID cards stating CBI trust and air gun and a SUV along with four mobile phones used by the accused .

The police are now taken the accused into custody and further investigating to ascertain their criminal background.
