Prajwal Revanna says will appear before police on May 31, cooperate in probe

ne month after fleeing the country,Janata Dal (Secular) leader and Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, charged with rape and sexual harassment of several women,is set to arrive in Bengaluru to face probe by a Special Investigation (SIT) team in the wee hours of Friday.

Home Minister G.Parameshwara said on Wednesday that Prajwal will be arrested as soon as he arrives at the airport.

Meanwhile,the accused filed anticipatory bail petition before the Special Court on Wednesday. Principle City and Session Court and the Special Court for People’s Representatives,where the bail plea was filed through Prajwal Revanna’s advocate, issued a notice to the SIT to file objections before posting the hearing for May 31.

Eariler Prajwal Revanna on Monday released a video stating that he will return and appear before the Special Investigation Team on May 31 at 10 am.

He said when he went abroad on April 26 night after the election.Prajwal Revanna reportedly booked a return flight ticket to Bengaluru on May 30,and is expected to land in the city on May 31.

He reportedly left for Germany on April 27, since then he is on the run.The SIT approached the Special Court for Elected Representatives and got issued arrest warrant against him on May 18.

On Monday,Prajwal Revanna released a video message saying he would be returning to India on May 31 and will join the probe before the Special Investigation Team (SIT).

Reacting to the developmkent ,

“All necessary measures have to be taken,as a warrant has been issued against him (Prajwal).

He has to be arrested.The SIT is waiting,they will arrest him and will take his statement,and their (SIT) process will start…

A warrant has been issued.So he will have to be arrested,” the minister said.

Meanwhile a team of SIT officials camped in the airport waiting to arrest him as soon as he land.As per SOP the immigration officials detain Prajwal and hand him over to the SIT as there is a LOC issued against him.
