Three held for blackening the name board of Savarkar put up at the Yelahanka flyover in Bengaluru

he Yelahanka new town police arrested three members of the National Students’ Union of India for blackening the name board of Savarkar put up at the Yelahanka flyover on Tuesday.

The trio identified as Lakshya Raj,Nishchay Gowda and Naveen along with others staged a protest demanding the name should be replaced with freedom fighter Bhagath Singh who laid his life for the sake of freedom.

While traffic was disrupted for sometime,the trio climbed up on the board and blackened Savarkar name with ink.

The police rushed to the spot and detained the trio and brought them to the station for further procedure .

Based on the complaint filed by jurisdictional BBMP officials,the police have registered an FIR against the trio .

Condemning the incident,Yelahanka MLA,SR , Vishwanath along with his supporters staged a protest demanding strict action against those trio alleging conspiracy the protestors demanded a detailed investigations and demanded the arrest of others involved in the incident .

Police security has been deployed at the protest spot to ensure law and order .
