Students and faculties including 14 of reputed college detained in Bengaluru for ‘participating in pro-Palestine rally’

day after the group comprising of students and faculties of reputed colleges across the city,staged a Pro Palestine protest at the busy Mosque road followed by arrest,by the Pulakeshinagar police registered two separate First Information Reports (FIRs)against 14 people were detained on Monday .

Senior officer told reporters,one FIR against the protestors for violating HC direction and staging protest without obtaining permission,the other FIR against four of them for using force to deter government servant from discharging duties.

The protestors resisted strongly and scuffled with the police at the time of detention and created a nuisance at the public place .

The protestors were later released on station bail and a police will file a detailed report before the court for further investigation.

The protest started at around 4.30 pm when a group gathered at the Mosque road and raised slogans and holding placards to protest to support Pro-palestine pamphlets and posters.Some of them alleged that the police manhandled them.

The police who arrived at the spot tried to pacify the protesters and later used “minimal force”to detain when the protestors resisted .

The protestors alleged that they are brutally manhandled them with a policeman even beating up a female student some of them received bruises while others complained assault at the station.
