ours after obtaining interim bail order from High court and earlier ditching SIT probe many times,Bhavani Revanna,wife of HD Revanna and mother of rape accused and former MP Prajwal Revanna,appeared before the Special Investigation Team for questioning on Friday afternoon.
She drove in a car into the CID head quarter along with her advocate with window glasses rolled over to avoid media glare where she was confronted by SIT officials to probe her on abduction and abetting serial sex crime committed by her son.
The SIT probing the case suspects Bhavani plotted the kidnap of a woman in Mysuru in her sixties who later accused Prajwal of rape and sexual assaults .
The SIT officials also detained the car driver of Bhavani to question him in detail about the whereabouts of Bhavani before she appeared .
Bhavani Revanna’s name cropped up during the course of investigations into kidnapping of woman,who was assaulted by Prajwal Revanna .
The KR Nagar police had registered an FIR in the first week of May following a complaint by victim’s son accusing Revanna and his associate Sathish Babanna of kidnapping his mother .
Babanna was subsequently arrested and the woman was rescued by the SIT from a farmhouse at Kaalenahalli village in Mysuru’s Hunsur taluk.
On May 4,the SIT arrested Revanna and after a few days of police custody he was sent to judicial custody. Revanna received bail on May 20.
The SIT has issued notices to Bhavani to appear before her for questioning, but she dodged the officials despite the team went and searched her at her residence in Bengaluru and Holenarasipura.
Failed to respond to the notice multiple times,the SIT approached the court seeking arrest warrant but by then Bhavani Revanna on Friday appeared before High court seeking Anticipatory bail .
The court passed interim order keeping the NBW in abeyance after the assurance given by the senior counsel Sandesh Chouta that Bhavani Revanna would appear before the SIT.
