Gang war erupts in Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara Central Prison,9 inmates charged with assaulting 7 under trials over trivial row

Tension gripped among the inmates of the central prison of Parappana Agrahara for sometime when a gang of nine inmates clashed with seven under trails from an adjacent barrack over a trivial row on Friday night .

The incident occurred at around 6.30 pm when the prison officials are on the routine rounds of the barracks .

The accused picked up stones and attacked seven under trails beating them black and blue .

The officials rushed to the spot and resorted to mild lathi charge to brought the situation under control .

The officials also stepped up security in and around the prison as a precautionary measures.

The injured inmates were shifted to prison hospital for treatment.Preliminary inquiry revealed that the accused had a old grudge against the seven inmates living in the adjacent barrack over a trivial row .

Chief Superintendent of Prison,Mallikarjun filed a complaint with the Parappana Agrahara police seeking legal action against the accused for violating prison rules and showing high level of indiscipline .

Based on the complaint,the police have registered a case of assault against the accused on Saturday for further investigation.
