n Continuation of investigation into Multi Crore Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation scam,the CID officials on Thursday recovered cash ₹ 3.5 crore from the place linked to former MD,J G Padmanabha.
Based on the information provided by the accused,the SIT officials raided the place and recovered the cash which was stored in the house .
With this the SIT officials have recovered a total of 11.7 crore cash from the accused so far.The SIT officials also arrested 8 people involved in the scam.
Earlier the SIT officials arrested Satyanarayana Verma and Chandra Mohan from Andhra Pradesh who worked as middlemen and opened multiple bank accounts to transfer crores of rupees linked to the scam.
The SIT officials with their arrest recovered ₹ 8.2 crore from them.
Their names came to light after SIT officials arrested Satyanarayana Itakari,chairman of a credit cooperative bank in Hyderabad for helping the accused to open multiple bank accounts to facilitate illegal money transactions .
