The Yeshwanthpur traffic police increased the height of a metal barricades on the busy Govardhana Bus stop on the busy Tumakuru road which is one of the of the accident spot identified by the traffic police police.

In an effort to enhance road safety,the Yeshwanthapur Traffic Police implemented a novel strategy by closing the centre median and raising the centre median grills along select stretch of Vivekananda Statue to Goverdhana theatre on Tumkuru road.

This proactive measure has proven to be highly effective in mitigating accidents and ensuring the safety of commuters.

The decision to close the centre median and raise the centre median grills was taken after a thorough assessment of traffic patterns and accident data in the area.

By eliminating the possibility of dangerous crossover manoeuvres and providing physical barriers to prevent collisions,this initiative has played a pivotal role in minimizing road accidents.

As a result,zero accident has been reported in that spot since the last six months compared to seven including three fatal and 4 non fatal accidents reported between this period last year .

The Yeshwanthpur Traffic Police’s commitment to innovation and proactive measures in road safety has yielded tangible results,with a noticeable reduction in both fatal and non-fatal accidents,Joint Commissioner of Police,MN Anucheth,said .

Taking this initiative a step forward the department is planning to implement strategic measures to present road accidents and ensure pedestrian safety,Siri Gowri, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP),Traffic North Division,said.
