Gang looted Jewellery Shop and escaped with gold,silver ornaments and cash Worth Rs.2.18 Crore Stolen In RT Street

Jewel shop theft case,the patrolling police hoysala and cheetah deleberately avoided ?.

A gang of four men broke into a jewelry shop ransacked the shop and made away with valuables and cash worth Rs.2.18 crore in BVK Iyengar road in city market in the early hours of Friday.

The incident came to light when the shop was opened on Friday afternoon as usual at around 12.45 pm.

Based on the complaint filed by D V Kantharaju,owner of Divate Jewellery Works situated on RT Street Cross BVK Iyengar Road said that the two men gained entry through the ventilator broke open the safe and looted 2.5 kilograms of gold jewels,gold biscuits,15 carat diamonds and other precious stones 9 kilos of silver and Rs.32 lakh cash.

While the two looting and ransacking the shop,the other two members stood guard outside to keep a watch.

The entire incident was captured on CCTV installed in the shop which now the police have recovered and analyzing to identify the accused .

The accused were at the shop for over 2 hours and in the time no police patrolling took place at that time.

It may be recalled that the area was covered by three police stations including City Market,Upparpet and Halasuru gate where patrolling of Hoysala and cheetah are mandatory at the sensitive areas.

The city market police have stepped up investigations and verifying the CCTV footage to identify the accused .
