Renukaswamy Murder Case:Court Sends Actor Darshan,Actress Pavithra Gowda and gang to 5 days police custody

The Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Sunday extended police custody to Darshan and his 12 associates for five more days to allow police to complete the investigation where the accused allegedly tortured and killed Renukaswamy .

Probe by the police revealed that the accused had adminstered electric shocks to victim and branded him with hot iron before assaulting with belt,wooden plank , kicks and punches besides banging his head against the parked trucks .

Special Public Prosecutor,Prasannakumar while making submission requested nine days custody of the accused citing that the police needs to make some more recoveries .

The police through the public prosecutor said that they had seized 10 mobile phones from the accused and sent to FSL to recovery of data.

He also told the court that ₹ 30 lakh had been seized from the accused and presented a status report on the investigation to the court in a sealed enveloped.

The police required more time to analyze the CCTV footage,objects of the assault and torture mahazar and statement of the accused .

The accused even after the crime,met Darshan in Mysuru to discuss the next plan while he was busy preparing for the shooting of the upcoming movie .

Meanwhile while objecting to the further custody,Anil Babu,advocate for the accused alleged two of the accused,Nandish and Deepak,were tortured by the police and administered electric shocks.

While Darshan’s counsel pressed for judicial custody, the prosecution requested an extension telling the court that “crucial evidence”needed to be recovered.
