C hief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday ordered Criminal Investigation Department investigation into the murder of 20-year-old college student,Prabhuddha murder case .

The order was made following a petition filed by deceased mother KR Soumya,a city based social activist, accusing jurisdictional police links to the accused family and their deliberate negligence and trying to destroy the evidence.

Ms.Soumya,a single parent also alleged that she is facing threat and demanded a detailed probe and justice .

20-year-old BBA student,Prabhuddha was found dead at her house on May 15 with multiple injuries on wrist , neck and head .

The Subramanyapura police initially registered a un-natural death case despite Ms.Soumya cried foul and termed it as murder .

After much perseverance the police cracked the case and arrested a 16-year-old boy from the neighbourhood who confessed to have murdered Prabhuddha by slashing her wrist and neck to make it look like suicide and even washed the blood stains to destroy the evidence.

Senior officer told reporters that the accused had stolen Rs.2,000 from Prabuddha,to pay for his friend’s broken spectacles.

Prabuddha found out about the theft and confronted the accused, warning him to return her money. She also said that she would inform his parents if he did not return the money.

The accused panicked and pleaded with Prabuddha not to inform anyone and in the melee the victim accidentally slipped and fell on the ground, resulting in unconsciousness.

The accused found a knife in the house and reportedly slit her neck and wrist and cleaned all the blood stains and put the dead body inside the bathroom before writing a suicide notes and placed in the house.

Ms.Soumya in her petition alleged that the police refused to verify the CCTV footage and helped the accused and his parents who owned a liquor shop, having close proximity with the police .

The police deliberately avoid carrying out spot inspection of the scene of crime and did not even provided required details to the advocate representing the deceased at the Juvenile Justice Board. As a result the accused was bailed out within ten days, she alleged.

Considering the development,Ms.Soumya expressed fear that the case may derailed due to callous and malafide intention of the police ,while seeking CID probe for a detailed probe .
