Working Journalists Association played a vital role in the development of Karnataka:MP Basavaraj Bommai

T he Karnataka Union of Working Journalists has a great role in the development of Karnataka and the journalists have done the job of warning political parties, said former chief minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai.

Speaking at a function organised by Bengaluru and Haveri Working Journalists union here on Sunday,he said journalists have a big role in the state’s development.

The senior journalists have made a significant contributions for the development of Karnataka.They have opened the eyes of the politicians whenever the state delayed the implementation of power and irrigation projects.

Journalism has been the fourth pillar of democracy. The executive and journalism have been doing a great job.

In the changed techi, visual media and social media too have come to the fore.The YouTube have impacted the people in a great scale.

Lot of avenues were now available for those who wish to adopt technology.The print media all had been facing challenges.

When he was the CM,he had financially helped the newspapers by releasing the advertisements according to ABC guidelines.

The BJP leader said the field of journalism and politicians enjoy an inseparable relationship like that of husband and wife.

The good and controversial news of politicians were released by media.The relationship must be strong enough among these mutually dependent communities.

The newspapers have an important role to play in land, language,water,border and culture of Karnataka.

Bommai said the protection of press freedom and journalista were their duty and they were committed to developing of the region.Journalists would alone encourage and instigate politicians.
