A 70-year-old man was injured when a bill board put up for birthday wishes crashed on him in the outskirts of the city on Saturday.
The victim identified as Bhaktavatsalam resident of Singanayakanahalli was returning home after fetching his grand daughter from school.
The minor grand daughter along with other passers by escaped narrowly but Bhaktavatsalam sustained severious injuries and rushed to a nearby hospital where he is being treated at intensive care unit.
The Rajanukunte police have rushed to the spot and inspected the scene of accident and removed hoardings and flexes out up in and around dangerously posing threat to the safety of road users.
The flex board crashed on Bhaktavatsalam was put up by a local resident to convey birthday wishes for his friend.
The police have asked the civil agency authorities concerned to check whether permission was taken to put up the board for further investigation.
The police have also asked civic agencies to identify and remove illegal hoardings put up at the public places causing inconvenience to the people .
The Rajanukunte police have so asked the civic authorities concerned to file a complaint in this regard.
