n a swift action the Srirampura police arrested a money lender who stabbed his friend to death in a financial row in Srirampura in the early hours of Tuesday.
Based on the information that a man was found dead on a bylane, Srirampura police rushed to the spot and ascertained the identity of the deceased as Kumaran, 39,resident of Saibaba Nagar in Srirampura.
During investigation it was revealed that Kumar had left home on Monday night with his friend Dayal,a local money lender .
Based on the information by Kumaran’s wife the police , picked up Dayal for questioning.
Probe revealed that Dayal and Kumaran were friends for the last 15 years and the former had lent ₹ 50 lakh to Kumaran for business purpose.
Kumaran did not return the money despite Dayal was repeatedly asking him to pay back,In the meantime Dayal suffered huge loss and had to shut down his business and used to have frequent fight with Kumaran to get back the money.
On Monday Dayal invited Kumaran for a party and after couple of drinks Dayal on the pretext of dropping back Kumaran took him to a bylane in an isolated place and stabbed him to death before fleeing the spot senior officer said.
