Construction labourer held by Konnanakunte police for bludgeoning his drinking partner to death over trivial row in Bengaluru

The Konnanakunte police arrested a 34-year-old construction labourer for bludgeoning his drinking partner to death over a brawl over a trivial row at an under construction community hall in Konanakunte on Sunday.

The police found Balaji,42, dead in a pool of blood with a multiple slash injuries and assaulted with a wooden plank found near-by while another labourer Murthy was unconsious .

Based on the complaint by deceased wife,a team of police led by Inspector,Papanna M,analyzed over 200 CCTV footage to identify the accused .

The accused are drinking partners and used to sleep in the under construction building regularly after party.

The accused on Sunday after a couple of drinks fought over space to sleep .

In the melee Harish who is stronger than two of them attacked the duo with wooden plank and a blade he used to carry to work and escaped.

The police team track down the accused through the CCTV footage including the grabs from the BMTC bus before pinning him down on Bannerghatta road .

Harish has been booked under murder and attempt to murder for further investigations said a senior officer.
