NWKRTC Chairman Raju Kage says corporation is incurring losses due to Shakti scheme;Bus fare hike inevitable, says KSRTC chairman

n order to recover from the loss due to Shatki scheme and provide improved services to the customers the KSRTC board has proposed to increase the fare of the KSRTC buses up 20 per cent.

SR Srinivas,chairman of the KSRTC said that a resolution has been prepared to the be submitted to the chief minister for his approval in this regard. elaborating on the need for hike in fares,Mr. Srinivas said that the last time the corporation had revised the price in 2019.

During that time the price of the diesel was rs 60 and the spare parts price was also nominal .

Now every thing is on the rise and the fuel Price has touched Rs.93,he said justifying why the hike is inevitable .

Even the employees wages had to be revised and the corporation is running 295 crore loss in the first quarter of the fiscal year due to shakti scheme.

There are around 8000 plus buses which had played a maximum distance of 10 lac kilometers which needs to be replaced .

Though the corporation has bought 450 volvo buses they are not enough and the revised wages of the employees is need of the hour,he added .

Keeping all that in mind and to provide good service to the commuters the corporation needs financial support and cant depend on government for every small needs, he added .
