Yeshwanthpur police station Hoysala staff in the dock for refusing to help accident victim in golden hour after repeated request by passers-by Departmental Inquiry ordered :DCP Saidulu Adavath
The Hoysala patrolling staff of North Division are in the dock for refusing to ferry an accident victim in their Hoysala vehicle in an emergency case despite repeated request from the passers-by to shift the profusely bleeding victim to the hospital .
The incident occurred at around 2 am on Tuesday when the victim,Rahul Gowda,24,a law student was returning home to Srinagar on his motorcycle after visiting a friend.
While passing through Triveni road he lost control and slipped and skid around 200 feet sustaining severe injuries .
Passers-by rushed to his help and alerted police control room for help though the Hoysala police reached the spot they allegedly waited for the ambulance to shift the injured while he was bleeding and writhing in pain on the road .
Passers-by vented their ire on the hoysala staff demanding them to take the injured to hospital in the hoysala vehicle but the staff were adamant and argued with the public stating that they had informed the traffic cops and ambulance.
Meanwhile the Yeshwanthpur traffic police reached the spot and took the victim in the car till Yeshwanthpur and later shifted him in the ambulance to take him to the hospital.
The victim was taken to KC General hospital from there shifted to private hospital where he is recovering .
The Assistant Sub Inspector,Srinivasa MV,filed a complaint with the Yeshwanthpur Traffic police based on which a case of rash driving or riding on a public way under section 281 and section 125(a) (rashly or negligently as to endanger human life or the personal safety of others)of BNS against the victim,Rahul Gowda,for further investigation.
Objecting to the rude behavior one of the passers-by recorded the act of the police and put it on social media .
Taking cognizance of the situation,DCP, North Division, Saidulu Adavath initiated inquiry into the incident .
According to a senior police officials, the Hoysala staff were asked to attend the emergency situation to respond to the golden hour to save the lives.
However the staff said to have neglected their duty which is being probed .
