CM instructs to submit immediate damage report for compensation as per NDRF norms for agriculture and horticulture crop damage due to rain

* Final decision on providing permanent relief to victims affected by water released from Kadra Dam.

*Compensation for loss of life due to rain disaster and flood should be provided immediately.

*CM suggests installing electric poles on the coastal line,and repairing and replacing wires where necessary.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has instructed immediate submission of damage reports as per NDRF norms for compensating agriculture and horticulture crop damage caused by rain.

He gave these directions during a meeting with secretaries and district-level officials after inspecting the site of the Shiruru landslide.

He emphasized the need for a final decision to be made on providing permanent relief to victims affected by water released from the Kadra Dam.

The CM,who obtained information about compensation provided for loss of life due to rain disaster and flood, stressed that remaining compensation should be disbursed promptly.

He also suggested installing electric poles along the coastal line and repairing or replacing wires as required.

Other highlights of the meeting:

*Expressing dismay over toll collection without completion of highway work,CM asked,Why are you collecting toll without completing the National Highway work in the district? This is not right”.

*I will write a strong letter to the Union Minister of Highways about this,Chief Minister said.

*The work was supposed to be completed by 2016,but it has not been finished so far.This not only misleads the Union Minister but also provides incorrect information to the State Government.

We are not here to just listen to what you say.There are chances of rain in the district in the next few days.The Chief Minister instructed the district administration to take all precautionary measures to avoid any kind of danger, including landslides.

Village-level task force committees should be formed in the dangerous areas of the district to inform the district administration about the situation there.

He said that all the officers of the district should work to earn people’s trust by responding immediately to public problems.
