* Opportunities bring out talent in everyone: CM.

CM Siddaramaiah opined that talent is not the prerogative of any caste or community.

He was speaking at the Prathibha Puraskara award programme organized by H.Anjaneya Charitable Trust in Chitradurga.

He also honoured and encouraged children who scored the highest marks in SSLC and PUC.

“In the caste system,only the upper castes get all the opportunities.Shudras,the oppressed,scheduled castes, and upper caste women were also deprived of education,”he said.

“Education builds self-esteem. Scientific and rational education is necessary.Educated people believe in superstitions like destiny,”Siddaramaiah added, emphasizing the importance of intellectual education as envisioned by Kuvempu.

“There is no progress in society without movement . Today,over 90 students from the Madiga community have scored more than 90% marks.This is a matter of great joy,”he stated.

The CM encouraged a meritorious PUC student who scored 98% and secured 8th rank in the state, saying, “You should become an IAS officer.”He assured her of his full support.

“I may never be Ambedkar,but Ambedkar’s aspirations and views resonate with me,”Siddaramaiah affirmed.

The event was attended by President of Sirigere Mutt, District In-charge Minister,D.Sudhakar,PWD minister, Satish Jarakiholi,MLAs,Virendra Pappi,Raghumurthy, Basavanthappa,former Minister,H.Anjaneya,and former MP,Chandrappa were present.

The programme was held in the divine presence of Sri Shivamurthy Shivacharya Swamiji.
