CID arrests Gangster John Moses a relator involved in over 100 land-grabbing cases under KCOCA

The CID officials on Monday arrested a gangster under Karnataka Control of Organized Crime Act for his involvement in over 100 land grabbing cases.

The accused John Moses,according to the CID officials runs a crime syndicate grab over 100 properties in and around the city since 2017 by creating forged property documents to claim the ownership .

The accused start dispute and even file cases in the court before striking a deal with the actual owners to extort money on the pretext of compromise and hand over the property.

In one such cases,the High court took cognizance and directed the registrar to file a complaint with the jurisdictional Halasurugate police in December 2020.

Considering the magnitude of the case was handed over to CID which formed a special team and conducted the probe in detail.

Probe revealed that Moses had grabbed 100 such properties and cases have been booked subsequently .

The investigations into 51 of 100 cases have been completed and charge-sheet filed while the probe is on for the remaining cases, a senior CID officials,said .
