Notorious HBT offender imran@Chor Imran wanted in 26 burglaries across city arrested by Konanakunte police after 3 years on run and recovered gold and silver ornaments worth Rs.1 Crore

The Konanakunte police finally had a break through and arrested a notorious house break thief who was giving sleepless nights to the city police with his over 26 burglaries committed in and around Bengaluru.

The accused Imran was so proficient in his crime that he would not use even mobile phone to hood wink the police. However based on a CCTV footage the police got the clip from a shop theft case reported on January 19 this year.

Where the accused had used the car to carry the stolen valuables and got the CCTV image enhanced to zero in on him.

Armed with the information, the police confronted Imran near Satellite bus stand along with the car.He was brought to the station and a detailed questioning led to recover 1.3 kilos of gold valuables 1.5 kilos of silver articles, altogether worth of Rs.1 Crore which he had pawned at jewellers in various parts of Bengaluru,Hyderabad,Mysuru and Mumbai .

Senior officer told reporters explaining their meticulous operation in nabbing the notorious dreaded HBT offender he said that accused Yasin Khan known as ‘Chor Imran’,was caught at a congested traffic signal near the Satellite bus stand on July 5.

The Konanakunte police arrested Khan after numerous unsuccessful interstate operations and six months of persistent tracking.Although half of the city’s investigators knew Khan,they recognised him only by his alias‘Chor Imran’ since he is an habitual offender.

Khan has been implicated in 80 theft and house break-in cases since 2008,although evidence suggests his criminal activities began in 2005.He has been arrested six times,but repeatedly secured bail.Khan faces 26 cases in Bengaluru alone.

His latest arrest follows a break-in on January 19, where he stole 30 grams of gold from a Konanakunte house.

The special team of police under PI,Papanna M and his team swung into action and after inspecting CCTV footage they captured Khan driving a red Maruti Swift and breaking into the house with a metal tool,leading to a manhunt.

Khan managed to evade capture multiple times during interstate searches in Mumbai,Hyderabad,Goa and Solapur over the past six months.

He further explained that Khan is a resident of Bengaluru who visited the city for theft sprees,stealing gold and silver ornaments,which he sold in Hyderabad and Mumbai.

To avoid detection,Khan frequently changed hotels and cities,spending Rs.10,000 to 15,000 per stay.

Last month,he was spotted in a Mumbai hotel, prompting a team to be dispatched,but he escaped. Vague leads took team to Hyderabad and Goa,but Khan eluded them each time.

Critical tollgate CCTV footage eventually led police to Bhatkal,Mysuru and finally Bengaluru,where they caught him in jammed traffic.

Police held Khan in custody for 20 days and seized 1.5 kg of gold and silver worth over Rs 1 crore from Hyderabad and Mumbai.

The accused was booked under House break theft and remanded to judicial custody.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,B Dayananda, has appreciated Addl CP West,Satheesh Kumar,DCP South,Lokesh B Jagalsar,ACP,Girish B,Papanna M and his whole crime team for the meticulous investigation and tireless efforts in nabbing the notorious dreaded HBT offender who has given sleepless nights to many victims and police department after committing dozens of thefts with his plan of hoodwinking cops not using mobile phone while committing but his luck dint give success this time as the inspector Papanna and his team kept a close watch on his movements and was waiting for the correct time to catch him as he is very criminal minded in escaping by hoodwink but the team dint give any hint to him that they are behind and finally nabbed him at satellite bus stand who was on run from 3 years and recovered gold and silver ornaments a special reward will be given to whole team for nabbing the notorious dreaded HBT offender and sending him behind bars who is now cooling heels in jail said B Dayananda, Bengaluru City Police Commissioner.
