Revanth Reddy: Debt relief.. Rs. 6,190 crore deposited in farmers’ accounts

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that farmers’ interests are important to the Congress government.

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that farmers’ interests are important to the Congress government and that is why they have waived off loans. He said that the heads of corporate companies are cheating the banks.. He said that corporate companies have evaded Rs.14 lakh crores in the last ten years. But, he said that the Congress government is waiving off their loans because the farmers are facing various problems as they are unable to repay the loans taken from the banks for cultivation. Revanth spoke at a program organized in the premises of the Legislative Assembly on the occasion of the release of the second installment of crop loan waiver funds. 

“In the past, many farmers lost their lives after drinking pesticides in their own fields. Our policy is that no farmer should get stuck in financial crisis. That is why today we have waived all the farmers’ loans up to Rs. lakh and a half. Today is a festive day in the homes of all the farmers in the state. As per the promise of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, we have waived the loans of the farmers. We have waived off Rs. 6,190 crores as the second instalment. It has deposited Rs.6,190 crore in the second installment in the accounts of about 6.4 lakh farmers under loan waiver. In the first tranche, Rs.6,035 crore was released to 11.34 lakh farmers. So far 17.75 lakh farmers have benefited. 12,225 crores have been deposited in the farmers’ accounts in two phases.

Farmer assurance procedures different from the past: Thummala

Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said that the crop insurance scheme, which was completely rooted in the previous government, will be restored. Speaking as part of the second installment of the loan waiver program, the minister said that the promise of loan waiver given to the farmers in the election has been kept. He praised that Congress is the only party which is waiving loans of Rs.2 lakh in a single crop season. He expressed hope that the state will be at the top in the supply of oil palm in the next five years.

We are keeping the promises given to the farmers. In August we will also implement the loan waiver of less than Rs.2 lakhs. We support farmers through crop insurance. Soon, we will create different farmer insurance policies than in the past. We want to plant oil palm in 5 lakh acres in five years. We need to reach the level of supplying palm oil to many states. “The Congress government is giving the real meaning to the slogan Raitheraju,” said Tummala.

Everyone suspected..but,: Bhatti

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said that everyone expressed doubts when Rahul Gandhi gave assurances, and we are waiving their doubts by ignoring their doubts. Decisions have been taken quickly on loan waiver for the welfare of farmers. On this occasion, he congratulated the beneficiaries who got loan waiver in the second installment.
