Hyderabad: Telangana CM Revanth Reddy said that the youth of Madiga and Madiga sub-castes have been fighting for SC classification for 27 years. The CM made a key statement in the Legislative Assembly in the wake of the Supreme Court’s verdict on classification. He said that steps will be taken to implement the classification in the job notifications given now.
“Earlier we gave an adjournment resolution in the same legislature for classification. Then along with me, Sampath Kumar was expelled from the House. The previous government had said that they would take the entire party to the Prime Minister on the issue of ABCD classification. Madiga brothers were deceived not to take it. After taking charge of the People’s Government on December 3, 2023, on the instructions of Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, we sent legislators and Advocate General (AG) to Delhi under the leadership of Minister Damodara Rajanarsimha. The Congress government made a strong argument in the Supreme Court on classification after discussing with the judges.
In this context, the Supreme Court gave a favorable judgment for the classification of Madiga and Madiga sub-castes. We are grateful to the Supreme Constitutional Court. The Telangana government will take the responsibility of ABCD classification by standing ahead of others in the country. Now we will implement the classification in the given job notifications as well. If necessary, we will bring an ordinance and do justice to the Madiga brothers. I am appealing on behalf of the state government to fully cooperate in the classification of Madiga and Madiga sub-castes,” the CM asked.
