DRI officials busted another International drug racket and caught a 25-year-old woman passenger and recovered 57 capsules of cocaine which she had consumed to be handed over to her contact in Delhi on Friday.
Based on specific intelligence the officials confronted nigerian woman passenger suspect as soon as she landed at Kempegowda international airport from Dubai in Emirates flight and checked her baggage .
The officials later subjected her sustained interrogation, the passenger admitted that she had ingested contraband in form of capsules in her stomach.
She was produced before the NDPS court for permission to do a medical examination and for the recovery of the capsules from her stomach.A total of 57 capsules containing narcotics have been purged from her body.
The contents of the capsules have tested positive for cocaine.The said 57 capsules(approx 1 kg) valued at Rs.10 Crores have been seized.The passenger has been arrested.Further investigation is under progress. Probe revealed that she was mule and supposed to go to Delhi and handover the consignment to her contact in Delhi.
In a similar case,the DRI officials on July 18 busted another drug racket and recovered 3.6 kgs worth Rs.3.6 crores (Illicit Market Value).
Based on specific intelligence,officers of DRI,Bengaluru intercepted one Indian passenger at Bengaluru International Airport,who was suspected to be carrying contraband item in baggage/on person.On systematic search of his bags,those were found to contain eight vacuum packed silver coloured packets.
A greenish substance in lumpy form was recovered from all the eight packets and when tested with field test kit indicated positive for Hydroponic weed.
The packets containing 3.6 kg of hydroponic weed, have been seized and the passenger has been arrested under the provisions of the NDPS Act,1985 and remanded to judicial custody.
