70-year-old shepherd who was missing since Tuesday found dead under mysterious circumstances in a drain close to his house in Chikkegowdanapalya in Thalaghattapura on Wednesday.
The deceased Shivaram ventured out with the sickle to get leaves for the sheep on Tuesday morning and did not return.His son and wife along with other villagers searched for him till evening before filing a missing complaint .
The incident came to light when few villagers passing by found Shivaram found dead in the drain and alerted the police.
The police rushed to the spot and shifted the body for post mortem before registering an un natural death case for further investigations.
Villagers alleged that while cutting the leaves from a roadside tree,Shivaram came in contact with a live wire and electrocuted .
The villagers also vent their ire and alleged negligence on part of the BESCOM officials for nor shifting the live wire to a safe place,which has been posing threat for the last one year.
The police are awaiting post-mortem report to ascertain the exact reason for the death to initiate necessary action.
