Speeding goods vehicle driver in an inebriated state crashed into parked vehicle and killed Bengaluru Elevated Tollway employee and two others injured while they were on duty on Electronic City Flyover

A 47-year-old staffer of the Bangalore Elevated Tollway Pvt. Ltd,was killed and two others injured when a speeding goods vehicle driver in an inebriated state knocked them down while they were on duty on Electronic city flyover on Saturday night .

The deceased identified as Manjunath,along with colleagues Satish and Radhakrishna was patrolling found vehicle broke down and parked on side of the flyover near pillar 82 between Kudlu gate and Singasandra .

The trio rushed to the hlep and put out barricades and blinkers.While Manjunath was managing the traffic before calling the towing van.

Meanwhile a speeding goods vehicle heading towards Electronic city crashed into the parked vehicle despite Manjunath was trying to signal the driver to slow down and take diversion.

The driver who was under the influence of alcohol was driving rash and negligent mannager crashed into the parked vehicle so hard that both the vehicle overturned and Manjunath standing at the back of the vehicle was crushed.Satish and Radakrishna jumped out to the safety and injured in the accident .

They injured managed to stop a passing by vehicle and shifted the profusely bleeding Manjunath to the hospital where the doctors declared him as brought dead.

Based on the complaint filed by Satish,the Hulimavu traffic police registered a case of death due to negligence,rash and negligent driving, drunk driving against the driver Sandeep Rampal and arrested him for further investigation.

The deceased Manjunath was doing night duty and was busy running around for the upcoming marriage of his daughter scheduled in August 10,a senior officer, said .
