CJI Justice Chandrachud’s impatience with law
Delhi: The Chief Justice of India (CJI) Justice DY Chandrachud has expressed extreme impatience with the behavior of a lawyer in the Supreme Court. Everyone wants their case to be investigated first, but no one is in a position to care about the work pressure on the judges. “Sit here (in the bench) for one day. I think you will run away. The CJI made these comments during a hearing on separate petitions filed by the Uddhav faction and the NCP (SCP) leader Sharad Pawar’s faction regarding the political disputes in Maharashtra. Justice JB Pardiwala, Justice Manoj Mishra are other members of this bench. Uddhav Thackeray’s counsel has repeatedly appealed on this occasion to set an early date for the hearing of the case. The CJI expressed his anger on this and said, “Please don’t rule the court”. ”Why don’t you sit here one day and tell the court master the dates you want. Then you will know that it is too much to ask. You understand the pressure on the courts. Please come and sit here.. then I think you will run away to escape this situation.”
