The Cubbon park police have registered an FIR against unknown person for sending bomb hoax mail to Bangalore Club,Lavelle Road on Tuesday.
Based on the complaint filed by Col.KK Nair,secretary of the club,the police charged the accused under criminal intimidation by anonymous communication and public mischief for further investigation.
In his complaint,Mr.Nair said that he noticed the mail at his official ID at around 8.30 am from email ID identified as arjundurai rajasankar informing that a bomb has been placed in the club premises which will explode by 6 pm.
The mail also mentioned many unrelated topics Bomb to be triggered using mobile signals,the same used to Malfunction General Bipin Rawat’s Helicopter in OOTY! and also mentioned the names of Tamil Nadu ruling party leaders . the mail under signed al badr to make it look more serious in nature .
Based on the information,the police along with BDDS rushed to the spot and conducted thorough check before terming the mail as hoax.
Mr.Nair later approached the court and got permission from the court concerned to file a case in this regard.
The police are now trying to track down the sender based on the IP address .
The police found that accused said to be habitual offender had sent a similar threat mail to a school in Chennai stating a student bag was packed with RDX in march this year .
