wo construction labourers were killed and another seriuosly injured when part of the ceiling of the five storeyed under construction building collapsed in Peenya on Saturday.
The deceased have been identified as Veeresh,35 from Gulbarga and Imam Shiekh,28 from Yadgir.The injured Prakash ,55 was admitted to a private hospital and being treated in the Intensive care unit .
DCP North,Saidulla Advath among other officers and staff visited the spot and after inspecting the area and collecting details from the jurisdictional police he said,the incident occurred when the victims along with two three others were working at the fifth floor of the Vyom switch gear company situated near NTTF circle .
The victim were working on the centering of the fifth floor when the roof caved in.
As a result the victims buried under the debris of iron and cement.The other workers rushed to the help and took them out but one was killed on the spot while the other was died on the way to the hospital.
The Peenya police rushed to the spot and sealed the construction site and conducted a spot inspections. The victims are living in Soladevanahalli and working at the site for few days .
Initial probe revealed that the victims have not been provided with any safety measures and the police have summoned the experts to inspect the site to ascertain what led to the accident.
The police are now on the lookout for the site engineer and the owner of the company to book them under death due to negligence against them he added.
