Kiev: The attacks of Ukrainian soldiers in Kusk are suffocating Russia. Efforts by Moscow to deploy additional forces to stop them are not yielding the desired results at the moment. Recently the town of Sudja also came under the control of Kiev. Ukraine is the largest city Russia has conquered so far. And will Zelensky’s forces stop here? Or advance further into Russian territory? What are the benefits for Ukraine with the actual invasion of Kusk?

Intruded unexpectedly..

Since the start of the war with Russia, Ukraine has prioritized self-defense for most of the time. The country’s troops have withdrawn from much of the Donetsk region in recent months as Putin’s forces have stepped up attacks. Everyone thought that Kiev was lost. But last week, Zelensky’s troops unexpectedly crossed the border into Russia’s Kusk region. They have taken many territories under their control by harassing them with fierce attacks.

What is the real goal!

Ukraine’s military invasion of Kusk has surprised Russia as well as Kiev’s allies. It is still not entirely clear with what purpose they have taken such an action. Kiev says the capture of Kusk is not their goal. Putin’s forces have rained hundreds of bullets on Ukraine from the Sumy region of Kask. Analysts say there is a possibility that Kiev will pressure Moscow to declare Sumi as a buffer zone based on the latest situation.

Is the fear of nuclear attacks gone?

The attacks in Kusk exposed loopholes in Russia’s self-defense capabilities. Fears of a nuclear attack on Moscow’s territory have always been high. Many analysts are of the opinion that the latest developments have concluded that it is all an illusion. The invasion of Kusk greatly boosted Ukraine’s morale. It has increased the West’s confidence in the persistence of its forces.

To gain the upper hand in the exchange of war prisoners..!

Ukraine has taken hundreds of Russian soldiers hostage since the invasion of Kusk began. They were transported to their country in heavy trucks. This is likely to go well with Kiev over the exchange of prisoners of war. Since the start of the war, Ukraine has always been the first to propose the exchange of prisoners of war. In contrast, a few days ago, Russia first brought their request for exchange talks. Thousands of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians are currently held hostage by that country. The latest developments may help Kiev gain the upper hand in negotiations to free them.

What about self-defense?

Ukraine’s invasion of Kusk was a bold move. Kiev has moved its forces from several frontline areas for this operation. With that, its self-defense ability has been greatly reduced in those places. Even after the attempted invasion of Kusk, Russia did not slow down its attacks on its main target, Donetsk. In other words, it has increased somewhat. On the other hand, it is almost impossible for the Ukrainian soldiers to move forward from there in the background of Moscow’s massive deployment of forces to Kusk! Therefore, some analysts are of the opinion that the invasion of that region is a suicide attempt for Ukraine.
