CM Revanth Reddy: India’s Bargains to Merge with BJP

“Do I think India will be merged with BJP? KTR denies it from time to time but does not completely deny it. The people of India are now bargaining at a different level. First there will be inclusion of members of Rajya Sabha. Other developments will follow. Ultimately KCR will get the post of Governor, KTR will get the post of Union Minister and Harish Rao will get the post of Leader of Opposition in the Assembly. These are their priorities. Four Rajya Sabha members = Kavitha bail” said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He came to Delhi and spoke with reporters on Friday. In his own style, he answered questions from reporters about cabinet expansion, appointment of PCC president, loan waiver, political interference by his brothers, and his wearing of expensive shoes.

• Except that I came to meet the chairman of Foxconn, there was no political advantage in this. The visit did not include meeting the Prime Minister and Union Ministers. I have no objection to whomsoever the Supreme Council appoints as PCC president.
• I may not have been able to promote the US tour much. But if the goal of the trip is achieved and investments are received, the media will promote it. No one invests immediately. The decision will be taken only after discussion in their governing bodies. All MoUs are preliminary agreements. We have promoted the strength of the state. Investments can come after two years if not now.
• We will close any educational institution in Telangana where cannabis is found. It is the responsibility of the management to ensure that drugs do not enter the campus.
• HYDRA was formed to protect the government properties inside the outer ring road. We will give freedom to the authorities to work according to the law for its implementation. We don’t put a finger. I am not thinking about electoral benefits now. Working for public benefit. The people have made me the chief minister and the people have taken responsibility, so all that is left is for me to do good to the people.
• India could not give Rs. 20 thousand crores for loan waiver in ten years. We have waived off Rs.31 thousand crores of debt within 30 days. No state has done such a large scale loan waiver in the country. The leaders of India are unable to say anything about this. Cells have been set up in the collector’s offices to receive the complaints of those who have not received loan waiver. If any of the victims go there and submit their details… we will solve it for sure. We got the loan data from the bankers and waived accordingly. We have given first priority to women farmers. So far all the banks together have submitted data for Rs.26 thousand crores, but we have allocated an additional Rs.5 thousand crores.

Foxconn’s willingness to invest

Foxconn chairman almost agreed to invest in Hyderabad. We want to set up the head office in India at Hyderabad. Otherwise they will create a large number of jobs. For this, we have said that we will give more than whatever incentives are offered by other states.

• If the central government allocates funds to Telangana in the budget, it will have to make financial payments. If it does not, the ruling party at the center will have to pay the price politically.
• We 100% welcome the Supreme Court verdict on SC classification. Rahul Gandhi is also committed to it. We are committed on behalf of the State Congress as this is purely a state issue. We are ready to face the consequences. In this regard, nothing has been done except Prime Minister Modi embracing Mandakrishna Madiga. Classification ensures equal representation of each sub-caste. No one is wronged.
• I am from ABVP. Kishan Reddy, Muralidhar Rao and Rammadhav were our seniors at that time. I have never hidden this. If you ask if Chandrababu Naidu is your guru.. no, you will say that he is your friend. He was our leader when we were in Tedepa. But he did not make me a leader. I joined the party only after I became a leader.
• There is no sense in India’s misunderstanding of giving Rajya Sabha seat to Abhishek Singhvi from North India. Those appointed by North India as special representatives of the Telangana government in Delhi have no right to speak about this.
• My brothers do not have any government status. They do not interfere in anything. We are a big family. There are 150 cousins. Some have been in America for 30 years. 50% of our family is in America. What’s wrong with them living independently? Why should India’s leaders feel bad if they go to Australia? If Revanth Reddy is the Chief Minister, should all the brothers leave their work and sit at home? My brother’s company has its own patent on ethanol production. They want to come and invest in Telangana. Apart from that they are not given any benefits by the government. Why Telangana should not invite Foxconn for investment?
• It makes no sense to talk about the cost of shoes and sandals worn by leaders who contest elections at huge cost. In the current situation even those contesting as ward members are wearing sandals worth Rs.1-2 lakhs. Those who cannot wear it cannot contest in that election. When KCR can buy himself a plane, shouldn’t someone else at least buy a pair of sandals?
• Our policy is the Congress party’s policy on the Modi government’s proposals for a common citizenship, one country and one election. We will abide by the declaration made by the national leadership.
• We have said in the election manifesto that we are committed to SC classification. It was because of us that the matter, which was pending in the Supreme Court for a long time, went ahead. As soon as I took charge as CM, we impleaded on behalf of the state government and appointed senior lawyers and heard the arguments. It was this initiative that got the movement going.

Today, Delhi: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy met AICC President Mallikarjunakharge in Delhi on Friday.
